Concrete Foreman

The Company

Our client is a well-established construction business specialising in concrete and structural projects across the upper North Island.

With a strong pipeline of work and continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Foreman to join their team and take a leading role in the delivery of concrete construction projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, leading from the front and taking ownership of site delivery.

The Role

As Foreman, you will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day site activities, leading crews and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

You will work closely with Project Managers, subcontractors and the wider site team to keep projects moving, manage resources and maintain quality from start to finish.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise concrete crews and subcontractors on site.
• Coordinate daily site activities, ensuring work is planned and completed efficiently.
• Allocate labour, equipment and materials to meet project requirements.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and project plans.
• Set out and monitor works to ensure construction is completed accurately and to specification.
• Monitor productivity, quality and progress against project programmes.
• Ensure all site activities comply with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
• Identify and resolve issues on site before they impact programme or quality.
• Communicate regularly with Project Managers regarding progress, labour requirements, materials and any potential delays.
• Maintain accurate site records and daily reporting.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers and other trades to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Lead by example and maintain a positive, productive and safety-focused site culture.
• Assist with planning upcoming works and ensure crews are adequately prepared and resourced.

Skills And Experience

• Proven experience as a Foreman, Leading Hand or Senior Concrete Supervisor within the construction industry.
• Strong experience working on concrete construction projects and maintenance contracts
• Ability to confidently lead and coordinate site crews.
• Good understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing and site logistics.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and construction plans.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety requirements within a construction environment.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with Project Managers, subcontractors and clients.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities on site.
• Practical, hands-on approach with strong attention to quality and detail.
• Ability to identify problems quickly and implement practical solutions.
• Reliable, self-motivated and comfortable taking ownership of site delivery.
• Relevant trade qualification or construction experience would be advantageous.
• Full New Zealand driver's licence.
